Choosing Gratitude…

Standard

Romans 8:28: – “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to His purpose.”

1 Corinthians 2:9 – “But it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.'”

Thank You Lord

I found this pic online, and I saw that someone had commented, “That’s when you really believe that God is in charge.” The truth of the above quote, and this subsequent response, really resonated with me, because I have begun to have this realization myself as of late. When I pray and pray for something, yet don’t get what I want or pray for; I, like most people, am REALLY disappointed! However, the easiest way for me to find peace in my disappointment is to acknowledge that if that thing, that situation, that person, that opportunity were for me, God would have provided it; to remember that God is in control and nothing can thwart His plans for me; and to take comfort in the understanding that every situation will ultimately work out for my good, because what God has planned for me is better than anything that my mind can conceive. So I choose to trust Him, and in that moment, I can thank Him despite my disappointment. And He, in turn, gives me a peace that passes all understanding. 🙂 Hallelujah!
